Kristin McCartney
Rural Grocer network coordinator
Kristin McCartney, a doctoral student in Public Health at West Virginia University,
combines her academic pursuits with impactful public service as the Director of SNAP-Ed for West Virginia. Residing in Parkersburg, WV, her work is dedicated to improving nutrition education and health outcomes across diverse communities. She has been successful at linking nutrition, public health and agriculture through several innovative programs including Kids Markets, KidsMarket@theStore and GrowThis!, targeting rural communities across West Virginia. Her overall goal is to improve capacity for nutrition security in rural communities by rebuilding the local food economy.
