The West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition partnered with the WVU College of Law to prepare the following primer on mineral severance for West Virginia farmers. The document provides farmers with information regarding the rights of surface owners, the detrimental impacts mineral severance has on agriculture, action steps for farmers, and what several organizations in West Virginia are currently doing to protect surface owners.
