WV Food & Farm Coalition Sponsoring Hatfield-McCoy Heritage Food Dinner Series

Sept. 8, 2018
Community groups in Welch, Matewan, and Big Ugly, together with the West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition are excited to announce the launch of the Hatfield-McCoy Heritage Food Dinner Series. Through the creation of the dinner series, tourists and community members will be treated to local food dinners throughout the season while supporting local organizations and local businesses.
From 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, McDowell County will host the first farm to table dinner in the series to celebrate rich foods that come from southern Appalachia. A Taste of McDowell County will be held at Miracle Mountain Wilderness Park in Gary.

Other events in the series include The Blair Mountain Strike Supper on Sept. 22, and the Chic on the Creek on Oct. 6 in the Big Ugly Community Center. Additionally, two more dinners will be announced, one will take place in Logan.

The Hatfield-McCoy Heritage Food Dinner Series is funded through National Coal Heritage Area Authority, and made possible by local community communities.
