Steps to Accepting SNAP and SNAP Stretch

at your Farm Stand or Marketplace

 

Step 1: Apply!

Complete the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) application and receive an FNS number.

Step 2: Get the equipment!

Free equipment available! There is a limited number of wireless POS equipment for Farmers Markets or Direct-Marketing Farms (FM, DFM) through the WVDHHR that will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. These card readers will only be set up to run EBT cards and to cover the setup fees of the equipment and monthly expenses for processing the EBT transactions through September 2021.

    •  You will be ineligible to receive free equipment if you consult with a POS/Market Link directly.

Step 3: Sign-up for SNAP Stretch!

Once you have both your FNS number and are ready to run your SNAP/EBT machine at your market or stand, you are ready to get involved in the SNAP Stretch program.
